EFFECTIVENESS OF APPRENTICESHIP ACTIVITIES IN THE EMPOWERMENT OF THE JOB SEEKER COMMUNITY IN NGAWI REGENCY, EAST JAVA PROVINCE

The Open Unemployment Rate in Ngawi Regency is still relatively high when compared to other regencies/cities in East Java. The cause is the lack of readiness of the workforce to become workers and the lack of information regarding means of finding job opportunities. The government through the Ngawi Regency Trade, Industry, and Manpower Service has made efforts to overcome this, namely internship activities for job seekers in Ngawi Regency at PT Dwi Prima Sentosa. Therefore, the author conducted a study entitled "Effectiveness of Internship Activities in Empowering Job Seekers in Ngawi Regency, East Java Province". This study aims to determine and describe the effectiveness of the internship program at PT Dwi Prima Sentosa in absorbing workers in Ngawi Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques, namely semi- structured interviews with purposive sampling and supported by observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of internship activities at PT Dwi Prima Sentosa is running well and effectively. This is because all planning from stakeholders for this activity is in accordance with the previously determined plan. In addition, the output and outcome of this internship activity are in accordance with the expectations of the government and internship participants, namely increased skills, increased income, and absorption of labor. The conclusion of this study is that the internship activity in collaboration between the government and PT Dwi Prima Sentosa shows effective results in empowering job seekers in Ngawi Regency through effective absorption of labor with materials and methods that are in accordance with the needs of the workforce.
